Reason: Since 2001, this property was designated by Santa Fe County as “Open Space.” This area (southside) is in bad need of a PARK and the County and City of Santa Fe are preparing to sell the property to developers to build 96 homes, a park, and charter school. WE ARE ASKING YOUR SUPPORT TO SAVE THE OPEN SPACE / PARK!
It is my recollection that Dr Peppard DONATED the open space for a community park, and sold the other half for housing. I also recall the National Park Service RTCA program design plans in collaboration with the county/city and other stakeholders to develop a community park.

I’m signing this petition to advocate for keeping the South Meadows properties as open space that we can continue to enjoy. District 3 has the lease amount of parks and open space of all the Santa Fe districts which feels inequitable. I urge SF county to reconsider the sale of this property.

No houses and no school needs to be in this area the roads are too small you will not be making any road improvements and the traffic is already insane, will one of the builders or councilors come and drive this area during peak hours and see what we deal with DAILY

Pleas keep our open space park the way it is. I walk everyday sometimes (3) times a day with my elderly parents in their 80's and they just love the fresh air and natural landscape that would break their heart if anything changed from what it presently is. Please leave the park alone. Thank You

Open space is proven more valuable than development to a city and S.Meadows open space is no exception. It’s loss to development of anything other than parkland is at best shamefully poor city planning at worst elected officials suppressing their constituents voices. It must be preserved for the good of the community

This is the only open space for these communities. There is no outlet in walking distance for any of us if this area is sold.

I live at 1205 Morning Drive. The open space should be utilized for the community as a park, not more residential!!!

This area is not sufficient for additional developments. Please take the time to see the congestion and poorly designed infrastructure already impacting this area at all times of the day. Please consider other vacant land that can accommodate the purpose for this development. South Meadows and our open space is not conducive. Help us maintain our quality of life and investment in the area.
