We, the undersigned residents of Roeland Park and Fairway, support the addition of a sidewalk connection between 55th and Shawnee Mission Parkway and 53rd and Buena Vista. We've determined that the area is unsafe for bikers and pedestrians of all ages and is essential that changes be made to improve it. Additionally, investigation into traffic calming measures to slow traffic or allow for safe street crossings at certain places.

I do believe a sidewalk is needed on that stretch of Buena Vista. As a healthy adult I can run or duck to get out of the way of oncoming traffic, but others cannot. Cars speeding to get to or from Shawnee Mission Parkway. and the blind left exit from the Einstein parking lot are a particular menace.

Whatever happened to the law,"Pedestrians have the Right of Way"? Does anybody care anymore?? Respect living beings!
This sidewalk and safe crosswalks are badly needed.
The health and safety of residents in our City should be of utmost importance. Even though I live on the West side of Roe, I support sidewalks in all parts of our City.
I’m very familiar with the area and a RP resident. I support the sidewalk initiative in alignment with the goal for a walkable city. Thank you.

We walk down Buena Vista to 55th often. The area south of 53rd is very pedestrian "unfriendly" and dangerous with cars turning out of businesses and cars turning north off of Shawnee Mission Parkway. A sidewalk on Buena Vista between SM Pkwy and 53rd St would help improve the safety of this area.
