We, the undersigned, call upon Derbyshire County Council, as the authority responsible for local highways, to re-open Bath Street to trade, in order to encourage more people to shop on Bath Street and the Market Place again.
The momentum behind this petition highlights a clear consensus regarding the future of Bath Street. It is encouraging to see such a unified desire to return vitality to our local marketplace.

Its so sad how Ilkeston has lost so many shops over the years. Always visited Ilkeston once a week for shopping but now there are not many shops I use so I don't go as often.

Strongly in favour of this, I don't see how the town centre will recover without it

As a pensioner I feel that Bath Street would benifit by having a bus perhaps the 2 from Nottingham to come up Bath Street I have heard several comments from people in favour of this Most of us can walk down but struggle coming back up .Often then people go no further down than the bottom of the market
