Coach Arnett has been the Arlington track and field and cross-country coach for 25 years. He has coached for 75 seasons in a row. He has won over 60 League titles and has had at least 19 state champions and 53 All-Americans. He is dedicated to athletes of all abilities and will not leave the finish line until every one of his athletes has crossed the finish line. Arnett is the epitome of hard work and dedication and inspires that in every one of his athletes. This petition is for the dedication of the Arlington high school track to Stephen Arnett for his extraordinary service to the school and the community.

Coach Arnett is an inspiration to all the students he coaches. My daughter is on the winter and spring track teams. He is always positive with her and makes her feel good about herself every day she is a member of the teams.
Steve is not only an excellent coach but a mentor who inspired his student athletes to strive to achieve their potential in all aspects of their lives. I had three children work with "Arnett" and I spent 12 continuous years at his meets and enjoyed watching him inspire his athletes!
Arnett showed us all what it meant to work hard and achieve great things as a team and individually. As an adult now, I don't think I'll ever understand how he was able to dedicate so much time, energy, and attention to all of us while also working full-time and having a family. He gave everything to us.
Arnett: What did you this fall? Me: I did crew. <> Arnett: He didn't flinch! I like this kid. What are you doing next fall? Me: Umm... Ali: He's doing Cross Country. (And that's how it started) Me:
We never did see eye to eye on the importance of long runs. You were tough on us but knew the right thing to say to get us motivated and inspired. I cherish the sense of team that you instilled in all of us. Thank you for being such a memorable part of my life. Love, Twinkie
Coach Arnett has been a major contributor to the growth and development of my kids over their HS running career. His influence is seen in the many stories my kids and their friends still share years after the have left AHS

There is no one more deserving of this accolade than Steve Arnett. My daughter ran for him for 4 years and 10 years later she follows in his foot steps. She is a track and field coach in upstate New York.
