Coach Arnett has been a major contributor to the growth and development of my kids over their HS running career. His influence is seen in the many stories my kids and their friends still share years after the have left AHS

Coach Arnett has been an amazing coach who not only has great technical knowledge but also sincere compassion for his athletes. His record is truly remarkable and there can be no better way to honor this man for his lifetime commitment to the kids of Arlington than to bestow this honor. Wayne Ryder

Outside of my parents, no other adult has had the influence on me that Arnett has had. From teaching me how to work hard, what it really is to be dedicated and to work for something over the span of years, to how to deal with (and overcome) adversity, to teaching me how to push myself beyond every limit I thought I had, to teaching me how to win (and be gracious doing so), I would not be the adult I am today without Arnett's guidance. So much of what I learned running for him for years has helped me as an adult; there is not a day that goes by that I don't rely on the lessons learned under Arnett. And I'm not the only one. Literally thousands of young people have been molded by Arnett over the decades. The world is a better place for his mentorship. And, least we forget, he's a fantastic coach. His teams and runners have repeatedly ranked among the best in the nation. In my mind, there is no more appropriate honor than to name the track at Arlington after somebody who has given so much, has had so much success, and has so embodied what it means to be an Arlington Admiral. Name the track after Steve Arnett!

Steve Arenett exemplifies what a high school coach of young adults should be. A gifted teacher of track training an technique, a teacher of values, hard work and accountability, an irrepressible supporter of "his kids", demanding, caring and compassionate. It was a pleasure and and honor to have three children of mine coached and thought by Steve Arnett. Naming the track complex after Steve is an entirely fitting recognition of the life's work of that man.

There is no one more deserving of this accolade than Steve Arnett. My daughter ran for him for 4 years and 10 years later she follows in his foot steps. She is a track and field coach in upstate New York.

Arnett deserves this honor. I have never met a more dedicTed coach who sincerely cares about each and every runner and field athlete on his team. He helped to make Men out of my boys.
