we got the news that the board finally voted to name the field after anthony. i am honestly so happy and relieved that he is getting the recognition he deserves. thank you for sticking with me through all of this because we really did it.

Anthonyy Senerchia, Jr, football field.
As some of you know, Anthony started our youth football program, and mentored so many of our youth and inspired so many people of Pelham. He sadly passed away 2 years ago fighting ALS.
We would like everyone to attend the Board of Education meeting on Dec 18, 2019 at 8:15pm at Alumni Hall (across from the old gym in the high school) to show your support, and for those who can’t, to please sign this petition.
The Board, for whatever reason, decided (without taking a vote) to deny our request to name the Turf Football
Field in Anthony Senerchia Jr's honor. We our asking you and your family to attend the meeting to ask why the request was denied and more importantly what is the reason it was denied. Anyone is invited to speak!
Obviously there is " strength in numbers."

A Pelham family - a founding football family, - who went grassroots to raise millions of dollars to fight an awful disease and inspired millions globally to do the same. A total no-brainer that this should happen. Do the right thing Board of Education!
This is the high school turf, it should be named what the kids want it named. It makes the decision easy that they want Anthony Senerchia's name. He represents everything that a Pelham athlete aspires to be.
I knew Anthony and his family since he was a little boy. My brother John Miniaci (botch) died 5 years ago at the age of 46 and Anthony as sick as he was made sure he came to his wake out in Long Island.. a lovely person inside and out❤️
To think of how this man gave his time and energy so selflessly and with such dignity to the kids of our community while battling a tragic illness was beyond inspirational not only to our kids but to every parent as well. His spirit and courage reached far beyond Pelham. Anthony’s memory should be honored here.
Football is a game of courage, discipline, mental and physical toughness. Anthony Senerchia displayed each of these traits in a daily basis throughout his fights with ALS. Anthony’s name should be the first thing players see when they take the field to remind them what true bravery and grit are.
Pelham 2007-2010 RB/LB #44 I also wore Anthony’s number my entire sports career and nothing else. I did not chose this # either. After my late father Anthony Oliva Sr. & Anthony Senerchia Jr helper create and start the Pelham Youth Tackle League, I had to honor to be asked by Anthony Senerchia Jr. Who was a lifetime family friend and considered family to wear his number #44 as he would coach his first ever football team with myself also being on that team. The values and lessons and morals that Anthony Senerchia instilled in me at the young age of 10 carried with me throughout my entire life and every morning I get in my car, there’s Anthony staring at me from the odometer with that look you can’t describe but that’s more the reason Anthony was one of a kind. I could Think of no better person served a great honor.
He absolutely deserves this honor in his name. Please reconsider.

I knew Anthony as a delightful young boy, who matured into a wonderful man. A credit to his family and to the Pelham community where he was raised, naming the Field for Anthony would set a fine example for Pelham youth today and in the future,
