I was looking over the binder of signatures last night and thinking about how many people have stories about Coach Mesa that I have never even heard before. It is honestly overwhelming to read about his impact on so many different generations of kids in our town and I am just trying to keep track of every message sent my way while I prepare for the upcoming board meeting.

I just looked at the screen and saw we crossed over one hundred signatures which is honestly kind of surreal since it feels like I just started this on a whim. It is really moving to see so many people who remember Coach Mesa and want to honor him like this because he really did mean a lot to all of us.

I will be there to show my support as our board of trustees cast their vote! I believe that Coach Mesa's legacy will live on at SMSD forever!
I coached Mike’s Little League team and umpired game he coached at Stafford High School. Mike was great with the kids and umpires, was very knowlegable about the game and its rules. I think we should all homor the too-short life of a great young man. RIP Michael!
I played for him. He’s a great man and taught me a lot about baseball and life. It would be great to get this field named after him.
Michael was such an inspiration to everyone on and off of the field. If anyone deserves to have a baseball field named after them it is Michael Mesa. Thanks to everyone who has supported my cousin Michael he will never be forgotten
As a past School Board Trustee, I would highly recommend they name the BB Field after MR. Mesa. His dedication on and off the field to this School District speaks volumes of his commitment to all the students of this district.

I taught with Mr Mesa at Stafford MSD and he was a truly gifted and dedicated educated who’s memory deserves to be honored this way.
