900 Biscayne Bay board members Sean Wolfington, Raul Segredo, and Paul Everton have gone on record with their intention to remove Steve Smith from his role as President of the board, despite him serving honorably for 7 years and with a new election less than 4 months away.
Signing this petition indicates that as a voting member of 900 Biscayne Bay, you encourage the board to find common ground, reconcile, and work collectively toward advancing its mission of becoming the best address in Miami. Maintain the current structure with Steve Smith as Board President until the next election when a new board is elected.

Sean Wolfington and his cohorts are trying to force a coup before the election even happens. I am hearing from so many of you who are sick of this instability and tired of their blatant disregard for the democratic process at 900 Biscayne. We are keeping the pressure on these board members until they stop this nonsense.

The momentum behind this push is undeniable and it proves that the residents are tired of the board playing these petty games. Wolfington, Segredo, and Everton need to wake up and realize their desperate power grab is being rejected by the people who actually live here.

t is unfortunate that the last election ended up with a 3 new members (actually 2 elected and one nominated) who think they are the only voice in the building and were able to manipulate some owners to push a project that is more of an ego trip than anything else. Steve Smith has been a long time member and his level headed, responsible and dedicated performance should be the best reason to oppose such a "move".
Am signing after initiative was taken to change the petition language. I sincerely urge all 5 board members to come together, set hurt egos aside, accept your mistakes, apologize for any prior personal attacks or strong languages during meetings and work together for betterment of our community.
Steve Smith should continue on the board. I have worked with him for years as part of the 900 Biscayne Residential Committee and he has always the best interest on every single decision for our building. He is a valuable member and should not be removed.
It does not seem that the State of Florida’s extensively regulated and complex community association law would allow such a removal. In any event, it seems the intentional actions of these Board Members may expose them and possibly the building to significant legal liability. In-fighting will only lead to more conflict and legal fees, allowing the lawyer’s to pad their pockets.
The fact that this is being done: a) on 2 days notice (the absolute minimum required by statute); b) during holiday season when calendars are already jammed; and c) when Steve is out of town, does not pass the smell test. Doesn't come close.

Steve Smith has been an exemplary director and president for years. I was honored to work along side him as a fellow director. He obtained more votes than any other candidate in the last election and deserves to continue as the President of the association. IMO, the new directors resent the fact that he is their main obstacle to their grandiose schemes that are not in the best interests of the majority of the owners. While they may be acting within the limits of the law they are certainly not acting within the spirit of the law. Please tell every owner you know to sign this partition and to attend the upcoming meeting to let your voices be heard. The mean spiritedness and vindictive manner in which this vote is being conducted is not how we should want our association to be governed.
