Please sign this petition if you agree that the government should pay for the additional costs of the extra week of SHN and extra swab test for suddenly changing the policy on us while we're serving SHN.

Updates

May 10, 2021

The momentum we have generated proves that we will not accept these unfair costs without a fight. Post this link on your Facebook wall right now and text three friends to join the pressure campaign.

I am returning with my twin boys to serve NS. I have to fork out SGD8k and more just for this quarantine period and am very stressed out at how I can afford to then pay rent for the next 2 years

I came to work from Malaysia, I’ve been saving for the quarantine cost for the past year but out of sudden I’ll need to pay additional $1.2k. This seriously cost a big burden and hopefully the government would at least giving some discounts or allowances on those who are currently serving SHN.

We arrived Singapore before the announcement or changes, needing us to foot our bill especially when we are already serving our SHN. This last minute changes not only affect our financial planning, but also our delay in returning to work. We have planned our return to Singapore wisely.

Bearing the cost when it's upfront is acceptable. That's on us. But when the regulations change and the duration extends from 14 to 21 days while you're ALREADY serving SHN, it's like changing a contract after it has been signed. It's unreasonable!

It’s an unexpected expenses during this time. Specially now, I’m due to give birth in a weeks time.

It's not fair to charge the extra week - paying an unnecessary penalty for a pandemic situation thats out of our control.
