Decision Makers: Tandridge District Council Planning Department

We call on decision-makers to stop the proposed Parklands Farm and West Street housing development in Dormansland and to reject Elivia Homes’ two separate planning applications for the neighbouring sites.

Elivia Homes is preparing plans for around 80 new homes across Parklands Farm and West Street. Local residents are deeply concerned about the scale of this development and the pressure it would place on the character of Dormansland and the surrounding area. Many of us are worried about the loss of open space, the strain on roads and local services, and the way a large new build-out could change the feel of the village for the people who live here now.

We understand that homes are needed, but they must be planned in the right place and in a way that fits the community. Building on these sites would bring lasting change to land that many residents value as part of the local landscape. Once it is built over, that cannot be undone.

We are asking for this proposal to be stopped and for Dormansland’s future to be protected with planning that puts local people, the village setting, and the long-term wellbeing of the community first.

I live in west street and have huge concerns about the increased traffic in the area particularly Dormans road which is already heavy with traffic. We already have limited school and doctors in the area so it will put an added strain on the local community. The area is liable to flooding and unsuitable for development.

The infrastructure of the village roads schools doctors can only just cope with the current population

New housing should not come at the expense of the wellbeing and quality of life of existing residents or the families who may move into these homes. Our village deserves sustainable development that takes the needs of the whole community into account, rather than simply adding more homes without addressing the basic services people need to live here.

The infrastructure of our village will not cope with additional houses. The roads are full of pot holes as it is, there is flooding in. That area. The school is only one firm entry. We don’t have a dr surgery we use lingfield which is already too small and over stretched

This site has been proven not suitable for development twice already developing here will have a negative impact on the environment and the community and I’m strongly opposed to it

My village life is important to me. A place that is relatively quiet with a few pubs and one village shop. Roads without paths and a community spirit to match the environment I live in. Why do I want my home of choice turned into a place much larger than it is? Without an infrastructure to match? Central Government hasn’t a clue about Dormansland! A dot in the corner of Surrey! No more! No less! A place that misses many upgrades, but is fodder for Angela Raynor’s mass plan for more home builds!

This has been gone about in the wrong way. Also it will destroy bat habitat, cause traffic and the land floods.

I believe the road can not cope with the amount of traffic the development would generate on an essentially single track road and the proposed entrance is on a 90degree bend.
