For 25 years, Agueda Olmos showed up. She performed essential work in the Centinela Valley Union High School District. She was a classified employee, a member of CSEA Chapter 47, part of a school community that depended on her. After a quarter-century of service, she has been left without a job, without income, without health benefits.
The consequences are not abstract. Without health coverage, unable to afford the care she needed locally, Agueda was forced to travel to Mexico for dental treatment. No employee who has given decades to a school district should face that choice.
An arbitrator has ordered the District to return her to work. The collective bargaining agreement makes that decision final and binding. Yet Agueda continues to wait while the District delays compliance. Every day of delay is another day without a paycheck. Another day without health benefits. Another day of uncertainty for Agueda and her family.
The District knows what it owes. The arbitration decision is clear. The agreement is binding. Yet compliance has not come.
We call on the Centinela Valley Union High School District and its Board of Education to do what the collective bargaining agreement requires and what basic fairness demands: comply with the binding arbitration decision and return Agueda Olmos to work immediately.
Agueda gave the District 25 years. The District gave its word through the arbitration process. It is time to keep it. End the delay. End the hardship. Return Agueda to work now.
Agueda Olmos dedicated 25 years to this company. Always on time never called off , always been dedicated to her job 100%. Always did her overtime hours with no complaints. It is unacceptable and unprofessional what was done to her. The school district did not take her injury into account , they just took her job away with no explanation.
