Mrs. Ward has been a dedicated parent volunteer, past board member of the Valley View Parent's Club, and most recently a substitute teacher at our school. Her children no longer attend our school because they are older, but she wanted to continue her services to our precious school community as a reliable, honest, hard-working, dedicated, and absolutely valued substitute teacher. The students at Valley View absolutely LOVE Mrs. Ward. She is a kind, familiar face and is able to give them grounded continuity in the classroom when their regular teacher is not present. The teacher's adore her, and love that they can call on her ANYTIME to come in, and she is reliable. They know that she is able to carry out their lesson plans with ease. It is a very comfortable transition for the students. As of Monday, January 3rd, 2011, Mrs. Ward showed up at our school because she was supposed to sub for one of our 5th grade teachers. When she arrived on campus, she was told that her services were no longer needed on our campus (By the principal !) She was not given ANY valid reason why she was being "fired" from that job and all future jobs that she already had scheduled to work. We believe she is being retaliated against by our principal for filing a "complaint" against her at the district office. Mrs. Ward is currently fighting this battle alone and it's time that we stand beside her and "fight" for her to return. The teacher's and students are the only one's suffering from this heinous act.
