A Brownsville Area High School Spanish teacher has been suspended after someone posted pictures on Facebook of her with a male stripper at a bridal shower.
The Brownsville Area School District issued the 30-day unpaid suspension after school administrators eventually saw the pictures.
The teacher was fully clothed and was in the same frame when the pictures were taken. "She was caught in the photograph. She was in the picture and that was it." "She wasn't posing and she wasn't doing anything inappropriate. She was in the picture."
During this suspension the students have a substitute teacher who does not speak Spanish, FOR 6 OUT OF THEIR 9 WEEK GRADING PERIOD therefore the students’ education will suffer during this suspension. This is not the proper corrective action to be taken in this situation.
Our teachers should be able to have a private life. No crime or nothing illegal was done here, so why is she being singled out?

She is the best teacher there. She was fully clothed for gods sake. Bring her back now!
How is she supposed to teach Spanish when the sub doesnt even speak the language? My grade is gonna tank because of this drama.
Ridiculous suspension. Everyone has a private life. This is just petty school board politics.
TOTAL BS. She didn't do anything wrong. School board needs to get their priorities straight and stop worrying about Facebook pics.
This is ridiculous. It was a bridal shower! People have lives outside of the classroom. Let her teach.
