Remove Turning Point USA from GTCC
Turning Point USA is a hateful, discriminatory, selfish group of far-right "christians" who are sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, and a danger to the minority students attending GTCC. GTCC is affirming and encouraging these beliefs by allowing Turning Point USA on campus, or into any other area of GTCC. Many colleges have denied the existence of Turning Point USA on campus or in affiliation to the school, and GTCC's failure to do so after many accounts of Turning Point USA being involved in discrimination and hateful actions, directly contradicts the values that GTCC claims to align with. This petition is being signed by the students, actively challenging the current administration that allowed Turning Point USA to be affiliated with GTCC.

As a POC student Turning Point being allowed to be part of GTCC makes me feel extremely unsafe and uncomfortable. The Turning Point brand stands for racism, Islamophobia, and transphobia just to name a few. Majority of our community falls into one or multiple of the categories. How can GTCC allow this ?
GTCC is a school to many minority students and no one should be forced to see and interact with a hateful group such as this one. This organization is stead-fast on division and hate towards things and ideas that they do not understand nor want to understand. I do not want such a hateful and negative organization on a campus where such amazing people of all creeds, ages, and backgrounds come to learn. Keep this “club” away from GTCC
I believe Turning Point USA has no place at Guilford Technical Community College. I do not believe a chapter would benefit our campus or students, particularly given the organization’s history of rhetoric that can put marginalized and minority communities at risk. Our college should be a place where every student feels safe, respected, and included. Not a platform for an organization that promotes division and hostility toward vulnerable communities.
As a POC student, this organization’s ideology is extremely harmful to bring upon our campus.
A college campus is no place for an extremist political group. Allowing TPUSA to operate as a club approved by administration opens the door for excusing racism, bigotry, sexism, and homophobia towards minority students. Regardless of political views every student deserves to feel safe in their college campus, and allowing TPUSA to operate on campus jeopardizes the safety of thousands of students, particularly as we are a school primarily made up of minority students.

“Turning Point USA” but some teachers aren’t allowed to speak politics during class time. Adding them to this environment creates an unsafe atmosphere for POC and LGBTQIA+ communities since a lot the people in the group are usually homophobic and racist. That is not the community college I know.
