As a girl on color who sees everything that is happening in this world, having a club about an organization like Turning Point USA, which doesn’t support my rights as a female, makes me feel unsafe. GTCC is supposed to be an open and safe place for everyone, and with this club, it doesn’t feel like it. Not having this club won’t hurt anyone, but spreading the club’s message has historically hurt people that look like me.

No one should have to feel unsafe at our school, this club promotes hate and I don’t stand by that. I believe GTCC should be a safe place for all, not one group only. The fact they allowed this makes me disappointed in GTCC, our school shouldn’t make students feel as if they aren’t welcome here.

As someone who is about to attend college there in 2028 and someone who is taking some classes there, I feel uncomfortable knowing that a group of people who wouldn’t like me for my skin complexion or my ancestors would be near me. Hopefully enough people will tell GTCC that people don’t want hate and racism on their campus.
