Since February, we have been discussing the need to extend the Livernois pathway from New Life Lane to Valley Stream Drive with our City Council representative, David Blair, and the city. Our primary goal is ensuring the safety and accessibility of anyone utilizing this route, especially children walking or biking to school. We are explicitly advocating for the city to fully fund this project using the most cost-effective methods available. Please note, no financial burden falls on our homeowners.
This urgent safety issue was presented at our annual neighborhood meeting and received strong approval from the residents in attendance. Following David Blair’s suggestion that a community petition would strengthen our cause, we are asking for your support by signing the attached document.

I have given up walking from Valley Stream to the shopping areas at Walton and Livernois because over the past 40 years traffic has increased dramatically and speeds have increased as well. I do not think it is safe any longer to walk on the shoulder of Livernois. Please follow through on the existing plan to extend the path to Valley Stream
The safety of my family walking to local businesses and the safety of kids from the local high school walking to their homes and their bus stops. I see people walking along the side of this busy room constantly every single day and am always worried for their safety. One day, that will be my kids walking to high school.
It is very hazardous to cross Livernois at the bottom of Valley Stream Dr. to reach the pathway on the east side of Livernois.
This is a safety issue! I frequently walk and bike in this area & it can be nerve wracking try to get across Livernois. Having a path on the west side of Livernois will allow me to cross at the traffic signal at Walton.

As a runner and a homeowner in Valley Stream I would welcome a safe pathway along Livernois.
A sidewalk on the Valley Stream side of Livernois is needed for pedestrian safety, especially since there is no designated crossing to reach the sidewalk across the street. It would make it much safer for families and kids to walk to the high school, parks, and downtown Rochester without crossing the dangerous traffic on Livernois.

We have lived in Valley Stream Sub fot 36 years and watched with horror as the safety of our residents has been compromised. Please make this one change for the safety of all and especially the children.
