Opening French St will ruin the peace and quiet everyone loves, not to mention putting lives in danger! Very bad idea!

As regular visitors we always see kids riding/walking between parks and people regularly crossing a road is absolutely unnecessary it takes no less than 5 min to drive around using the existing roads

It’s a threat and a safety risk to both tourists and the people who live here, especially CHILDREN, as this road runs right alongside the playground, where kids are riding their bikes, running around and enjoying the freedom of having a space that isn’t open to regular vehicle traffic every day.
It’s completely unnecessary and ABSURD.

We love coral bay for the safety it creates by being a one street town. It’s our favourite getaway for a true family friendly vacation.

We’ve brought our four kids to Coral Bay every year for eight years, and they ride their bikes around. Reopening French Street to through traffic feels unsafe. Please keep the restriction in place.

We have been coming to Coral Bay for over 20+ years and fail to understand why you want to reopen the road right next to caravan park and kids .. 100% better closed..

What purpose does opening this road serve to anyone other than creating a huge safety risk to children and pedestrians??

It is unsafe to open it and not needed . Spend the money on a footpath to the harbour. Traffic needs to be kept to a minimum for the safety of the kids. It is a family destination where kids can be kids.

We recently stayed at BayView and our grandchildren were able to safely move around the park with freedom to cross from one side to another. If this was a road used to get around there would be so much traffic let alone a lot of dust.

We have been coming to Coral Bay for 22 years when our children were small and now our grandchildren are coming. CB is a safe and joyful destination to visit. Absolutely no need to open French St, in fact it would be negligent, completely irresponsible and unsafe to open this street. Just as irresponsible to allow the old pub on the hill to be rebuilt in such an ugly imposing prison looking building that does not fit in with the existing nature nor buildings in any way.

I question whether reopening the road is the best use of funds, particularly given it runs through a caravan park & is directly adjacent to the playground & swimming pool. There are huge safety issues for children, elderly and the whole community in opening the road.
Invest in a footpath & cycleway connecting town with the boat ramp, improving pedestrian & cycling access could save lives!! Opening French St is unnecessary at best.
