All names on this petition support Unity’s application for a non-medical retail cannabis license in the City of Merritt. WLFN has shown with their inaugural store and overall concept in Williams Lake that they are dedicated to owning and operating a professional enterprise that will provide the municipality of Merritt with the following benefits:
- A boost to local economic development;
- An increase in local employment and job opportunities within the downtown core;
- An opportunity for the City of Merritt to support its local business-orientated landlords;
- The federal government legalized cannabis with the primary goal of reducing organized crime and keeping cannabis away from kids and consumers under the age of 19. Opening another store within the City of Merritt is another step in the right direction of this initiative;
- Approving WLFN’s application shows the City of Merritt’s alignment with the Provincial and Federal Government’s commitment to economic reconciliation with First Nation communities in British Columbia.

I believe this store will benefit the community financially. It's a win win situation for the business and town. More people will come in and visit other stores as well on a more frequent basis.
Really nice store, staff is friendly and I mean come on better prices than most other stores plus sales, and the ability to use your status card
Having access to CBD products for my stress and anxiety has changed my life, it is medicine. Having a dispensary, buying legal safe products, asking questions about products before I buy, knowable staff and quality products. A dispensary is more than just buying Marijuana, CBD oil has helped control my stress and anxiety.
UNITY Cannabis is 1. Indigenous owned. 2. Involved in BC’s first ever Section 119 Agreement with a First Nation. 3. Really curated retail experience, and 4. a brilliant example of Indigenous led economic development. Enough said.
All for new businesses in our small community that is lacking in employment opportunities and retail advancements.

Williams Lake First Nation and Unity Cannabis are doing first class developments. Check out their operations in Williams Lake. Clean, safe and professional. I’m sure they will bring the same standards into any place they do business.
