We are asking management to keep Mimi, Morris, and Mookie’s feeding area at Evan and Alice’s home base at 7 & Bridge, where they have belonged for years. These cats are part of the community here and they also remind many of us of beloved manager John Colao. We are grateful to Evan and Alice for continuing to feed and care for them in his absence.

Moving the cats’ feeding area away from their home and into a common walkway would create avoidable safety concerns for the other pets at 7 & Bridge as well as for the cats. A shared walkway is not a good place for animals that have long been cared for in a stable, familiar spot. It would lead to confusion, stress, and conflict in a space where people and their dogs pass through every day to get to the dog park.

Mimi, Morris, and Mookie are harmless where they are. They spend time in front of Evan and Alice’s unit  - their feeding area has already been moved to the far side of their patio, away from their neighbors. There is no good reason to force a change that would place them and other animals at risk.

We ask management to respect the cats’ home base, leave their feeding area in place, and let Evan and Alice continue caring for them as they have been doing. This is the humane and sensible choice for the cats, the residents and their pets, and the wider 7 & Bridge community.

This has been Mimi & Morris’ home & part of the community for what I understand is about 10 years. Evan and Alice have already moved the feeding area to the opposite side of their patio near the brick wall of 2121 far away from the walkway or the patio of the new tenants who have only been here a few months. They don’t bother anyone, they’re out of the way and it feels really unreasonable to demand they be put out the middle of a community area where there’s no safety & a lot of dog traffic

I hope that and trust that our feedback will show that we support fostering a stable and peaceful shared environment for all parties concerned-- animal and human alike.

This is SO important for the 7th and bridge community. Many of this cats have been there way before us. They don’t only deserve our love. But also our respect.
