この署名活動は、私たちが心のどこかで静かに同意していながらも、今こそはっきりと声に出して伝えなければなくなくなった問題について、皆さんの声を一つにするためのものです。

日本のライブハウスは、若い音楽クリエイターたちが集まる、いわば「人種のるつぼ」です。私は日本国外で育ちましたが、日本の音楽が持つ唯一無二の魅力に惹かれてこの国にやってきました。そこにあるのは、既成の枠にとらわれないインスピレーションと、圧倒的なエネルギーです。ジャンルが交差し、誰もがオープンマインドでいられるその独特な空気感は、若いソングライターやバンドが互いに切磋琢磨し、刺激し合い、より高いステージを目指す小さなライブハウスから生まれています。その結果として築かれた日本の音楽シーンは世界中から絶賛されており、断言しますが、日本のようなライブハウス文化を持つ国は他にどこにもありません。

日本には、クリエイティビティ（創造性）が不足しているわけでは決してありません。

しかし現在、私たちはAIが日常の一部となった世界に生きています。私たちは毎日AIを使っていますし、現にこの文章の翻訳もAIに手伝ってもらっています。AIはこれからのエンターテインメント業界でも大きな役割を果たしていくでしょうし、メジャーな広告、映画、そしてチャートを賑わせる音楽にも影響を与えていくはずです。それでも、いくらAIを生活の多くの部分で受け入れるとしても、私たちが大切にしているものの周りには、明確な境界線を引かなければなりません。

これを読んでくださっている皆さんも、この世界において日本のライブハウスほど特別な場所は滅多にない、という意見に同意してくださるはずです。なぜならそこには、自らのアートを表現するクリエイターたちがいるからです。しかし、皆さんの目にはまだ見えていないかもしれませんが、この場所はすでに脅かされつつあります。AIを使って曲を作るバンドが実際に現れ始めているのです。ネット上では連日のようにAIが作った音楽が増え続け、最新の日本音楽を探している海外のファンを欺いています。さらに、こうしたAIアーティストが本物のミュージシャンを雇い、ライブの出演枠（ギグ）を探すケースも増えています。これは未来の話ではなく、すでに始まっている現実なのです。

あのステージは、私たちのアーティストのものです。心の中にある感情——それが喜びであれ、悲しみであれ、怒りであれ、挫折であれ、伝えたい想いがあるからこそ、ギターを手に取り、マイクの前に立つ「人間」のものです。ライブハウスは彼らのための場所であると、私は信じています。そして、あなたも同じ気持ちであると信じています。

では、なぜ私は署名活動という手段を選んだのでしょうか。

それは、どこかの高位の権力者に提出するためではありません。私たちが「一つの統一された声」として示すためのものです。曖昧さをなくし、私たちの意志をはっきりと証明するためです。私たちは、人間のクリエイターが自ら生み出した表現を聴きたいのです。そして、この世界の小さな片隅を守り、これからも日本のライブハウスが音楽的な創造性とインスピレーションの輝ける光であり続けられるよう、文化を繁栄させていきたいのです。

This petition is to unify our voices regarding a matter that I suspect we all quietly agree upon, but increasingly not need to say clearly.

Japan's livehouses are a melting pot of young musical creatives. I grew up outside of Japan, and came to this country because of how unique Japan's music is. Inspiration, unrestrained by formula, and full of energy. That unique mixture of genres and open-mindedness stems from the small livehouses where young songwriters and bands play alongside each other, influencing and inspiring each other to reach higher. The result is a music scene that is admired worldwide, and I promise you that no other country has a livehouse scene anything like Japan's.

Japan does NOT have a shortage of creativity.

However, we now live in a world where AI is a part of everyday life. We use AI every day, it is even helping me translate this text! AI will also be a big part of our entertainment industry future too, impacting mainstream advertising, movies and even chart-topping music. However, as much as we accept AI in to many many parts of out lives, we must draw the boundaries around the things we hold dear.

Dear reader, I suspect you would agree with me that there is little more special in this world than the livehouses of Japan. And that is because of the creatives who share their art there. This is already under attack, although you may not have seen it. Bands using AI to write their songs have started to appear. Every day, we see more and more AI music online, fooling overseas fans who just want to find the latest Japanese music. Increasingly these AI acts are hiring real musicians and looking for gigs. It's not a future problem, it's already started.

That stage belongs to our artists. The humans who pick up the guitar, or setup their microphone, because they have a feeling in their heart that they want to convey. Be it joy, sadness, anger, frustration, or any of these things. I believe the livehouses belong to them. I believe you agree.

So, why did I choose to make a petition?

It is not to be handed to any higher authority, but is intended to be something we can show as a unified voice. So we can remove any ambiguity and make it clear; we want to hear human creatives share their own creations, and we can protect this one little corner of the world, so that it will continue to flourish and keep Japan's livehouses as a shining light of musical creativity & inspiration.
