Seeing the stories shared in these comments reminds me exactly why I started this fight for the animals who cannot speak for themselves. I am currently working to bring these accounts directly to the representatives who have ignored this issue for far too long.

Seeing one hundred people agree that these laws are an insult to the safety of innocent animals fills me with a kind of relief I cannot describe. My heart breaks for the lives ruined by these outdated statutes but your response proves we are ready to demand something better.

Animals must be protected from rapists- bestiality is not "freedom of expression"- it is animal rape.
Zoophilia is basically the rape of an animal. They give no consent and are thus forced to be sexual conduits for people. It is barbaric and cruel and should be outlawed.
No civilized country should be tolerant of crimes against animals, as they often precede crimes against humans.
Raping animals is an act of violence. Bestiality videos are found with child porn videos in child porn busts.
Only a deranged mind could possibly think of an animal as a sexual object. Further, to suggest, as some do, that "...animals crave the sexual stimulation." is proof that such a person is mentally deranged and not safe to live with man nor beast.

Female animals cannot give consent, and it is dangerous for a woman to have sex with a male animal, as we have seen from a woman in Ireland who died of an allergic reaction to dog semen.

This is just so Evil and so Disgusting beyond words and it so needs to be stopped NOW!!! No animals should endure this despicable, abnormal cruelty and suffering by the sick, perverted members of the so called human race!!!! Animals do not have a voice to speak up for this horrendous abuse so it is up to us to do it for them!!! Please, I urge you, to increase the penalty for such abuse towards an innocent animal from the present mild 'misconduct charge' to the Class A misdeanor!!! Emergency action needs to be taken to show the sick and evil capable of such horrors that such behaviour will NOT EVER EVER be tolerated!! Please, I beg you, to act NOW and please save and protect these poor, helpless, defenceless souls!
