My name is Yasmeen Moradshahi and I am running for the position of our 1L class treasurer for the 2021-2022 school year.
Prior to joining UD Mercy, I attended Kettering University and graduated with a bachelors of science in electrical engineering. Before Kettering, I was heavily involved in DECA. Unfortunately Kettering really only allows business majors to join so I couldn’t be apart of it in college. However, when I was in DECA, I was VP of business partnerships. In that role, I was responsible for mapping out the yearly financial goals of our competitive season and obtaining various business sponsorships to reach those goals.
As class treasurer, I want to ensure that we can create enjoyable memories outside of our textbooks. Things like halloween party, bar crawl, and barrister’s ball are events that I’m sure many of us are looking forward to as a chance to get to know one another more and to give ourselves a break from our day to day course load. Events like these, however, cannot happen without being able to map out long term financial goals and budget correctly. While that may be boring to some, numbers, graphs, and spreadsheets are my thing. I thrive on working with quantitative analysis so let me worry about it! Y’all just enjoy the aftermath. I would also like to be able to implement things that are important to us into our financial goals. I will simply be a microphone for the voices in the 2021-2022 class. If there are specific events or causes the officers should be looking at, I would be more than happy to include them into our yearly goals and work towards shifting the monetary funds to accommodate everyones opinions.
I look forward to working with the other officers and students as we move through the school year!

The momentum behind this campaign has been truly encouraging. It is clear that our class is deeply invested in the events that help define our time here at UD Mercy. I appreciate the confidence you have placed in my ability to manage our common goals.
