Hello everyone! It excites me to announce that I will be running to be your 2L Class Treasurer.

I am a proud native Detroiter and graduated from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business with my BBA in 2019. From there, I took a break from school and gained some valuable work experience as a Global Sales Associate at LinkedIn. I am confident my financial savviness and leadership skills will make me a strong candidate for the position of Treasurer.

To begin with, I am a strong candidate for the Treasurer position because of my ability to efficiently handle finances. In undergrad, I excelled in my business courses such as finance and accounting. This business curriculum taught me the importance of budgeting, how to read a balance sheet, and the intricacies behind financial vehicles such as stocks and bonds. I have used this knowledge in my personal life to invest, to pay for school, and pay off student loans. As Treasurer, I will utilize these skills to grow the organization financially and ensure there is enough funds to continue staple programming and hopefully add additional opportunities.

Lastly, my leadership skills and prior experiences will make me a strong fit for the Treasurer position. In undergrad, I served as Finance Chair of the Black Undergraduate Law Association. This role required me to ensure the organization was financially stable so we could provide our members the necessary events and support needed to explore a legal career. During my two years with the organization, we secured over $15,000 in funding which contributed to apparel, guest speakers, refreshments at meetings, and other initiatives. In addition, I interned at the DTE Foundation where I was responsible for reviewing grant applications and made recommendations of which applications would be approved or denied. These experiences are directly aligned with what would be expected of me as Treasurer and I will fulfill this role to the best of my abilities.
