Over 6,000 unemployed graduates youths from 23 states in Nigeria were selected to be given grants sponsored by the World Bank.

Anchored under the two Nigeria's Federal Ministries:Agriculture and Finance, the GUYS (Graduate Unemployed Youths/women Scheme) was aimed to train and integrate youths in various areas of modern agribusines, through monitored provisional grants. The youths were ensured to remain unemployed through the programme.

For over 2 years (between late 2016 to mid 2017), and after rigorous training exercises and mandatory submission of business plans etc, till date, no one have been paid the grants ranging between NGN1.8 to 1.9million per participant.

Several meetings/protests in the capital of Nigeria,Abuja and other 23 states involved, had been staged by participants to press the coordinating agency (FADAMA). But yet no positive result.

This is to call on the WORLD BANK, the NIGERIA PRESIDENCY and GOVERNORS of the concerned 23 States to wade into this.
