We the undersigned urge South Gloucestershire Council to take a New Year’s resolution to abandon plans for Junction 18a East in Pucklechurch. This petition also campaigns for a comprehensive data review on the impacts of any new motorway junction on East Bristol, along the A420 (Kingswood High Street, Two Mile Hill, Church Road, and Lawrence Hill), both in terms of congestion and public health resulting in a worsening of air quality.

As a resident living on the church road route further increase onto an already overloaded area would cause traffic chaos. It's not uncommon to take nearly an hour to crawl down the Church road during rush hour already, this plan would make this even worse and extend such road issues throughout the day.
St George is already very very congested with traffic. We have increasing numbers of young families in the area; babies & young children should not have to breathe in commuter fumes. We are a community, not just a main, clogged up road!
That route especially as it gets into Kingswood and Church Road is at a standstill each morning already. I walk into town and you can practically feel the lead in the air and the fumes. Why not invest in public transport which is the real need?
This green belt is there to protect the villages and keep them just that. We don't want to be part of the urban sprawl. Also the proposal cuts right across Kings Lane which dates back to Anglo Saxon times and would be destroyed if this road goes ahead.
A new Junction 18a East in Pucklechurch would be a disaster for St George & East Bristol. It would route hugh volumes of Swindon & London bound traffic through our area. #LoveEastBristol #SayNotoJunc18aEast
This would make my journey to work by bike less enjoyable and more dangerous - it may encourage me to drive instead.

The impact that this will have on the A420 is incomprehensible. This local High St has already seen one man irreversibly injured and one man killed within the last 6 months. We need less traffic, NOT more!
