We Want To Charge
Dear Jeep,
As passionate members of the Jeep community and proud 4XE owners, we believe in the spirit of adventure, strength, and resilience that Jeep represents. However, we are deeply concerned about the recent 95B recall and feel that greater transparency and support are needed for all 4XE models. We realize that early adoption comes with risks, but we feel a greater desire for transparency and future support. Having lost our ability to charge through two recalls is causing a loss of faith in both the 4XE platform and Jeep as a manufacturer. We bought PHEVs and we have lost the very thing that attracted us to the product. We Want To Charge represents a desire both short term and long down the road.
Our Request:
1. Transparency on the 95B Recall: Jeep has issued the 95B recall, impacting many of our vehicles. However, we as owners have received limited information about the scope, reasons, and safety implications of this recall. We are simply asking for more open communication. We deserve clear, detailed information about why this recall was issued and what is being done to resolve it effectively. We Want To Charge again soon. We understand that excellent work requires time. Being more transparent and communicating with 4XE owners would go a long way toward restoring our trust in Jeep.
2. Extended Warranty for All 4XEs: Many 4XE owners have experienced challenges specific to this model, such as battery failures and other hybrid related issues. Given these unique components and the early stage of hybrid technology, we are asking Jeep to extend warranties on all 4XE vehicles, providing additional coverage for components like the battery and the hybrid system to help us drive with peace of mind. We are asking for an additional 5 years and an additional 75,000 miles on all Jeep Wrangler 4XEs and Grand Cherokee 4XEs. On page 6 of the hybrid supplement manual, it states that the hybrid battery should last the lifetime of the vehicle. Given the number of batteries that are already being replaced at the three year mark, we do not have faith that the replacement batteries will last beyond the ten year warranty, let alone the life time of the vehicle. We Want To Continue to Charge and feel a warranty extension is a good faith commitment on the part of Jeep toward the 4XE community.
We love our Jeeps and hope remain committed to the brand, but we feel that these requests are necessary to maintain the trust and loyalty of Jeep’s dedicated community. Please join us in signing this petition to ask Jeep to take action that supports their 4XE owners and demonstrates a commitment to transparency, reliability, and customer care.
Thank you, Jeep, for listening to your community.
