This survey has been created by Digital Coquetdale, a campaign for superfast broadband and mobile coverage in the Coquet Valley, Northumberland, to prove demand for improved services.

The current status is that superfast broadband will be available to anyone with 1km of Harbottle exchange by the end of 2014.

Outside this area there are no plans for improved services (Alnwinton, Hepple, Holystone, Netherton, Sharperton etc.).

Mobile coverage in the valley is almost non-existent.

There are a number of potential solutions to both issues but they all require additional government investment.

The responses to this petition will be used to help build a case for additional funding.

For further information see digitalcoquetdale.org.

Thank you for your support.

As a small business in Coquetdale we feel we super fast broadband is essential to compete with businesses elsewhere in the country.

The promise of super fast broadband to coquetdale inevitably stopped at Rothbury. For those of us more outlying, we need the same service as everyone else; for us and for our children.

Basically if you live outside the centre of a few larger villages you are not going to get broadband from BT - in spite of the vast amounts of money they are making out of supposedly installing a rural broadband infrastructure. The same thing is happening right across the country and, amazingly, the government is letting them get away with it!

Within reason, no-one should be disadvantaged because of where they live. This is not just about people and p[otentially new business moving into the valley but about the people that already live and work here.
