I am currently compiling the data regarding actual connection speeds to present during my meeting with BT and CDS. The reports of limited service remain consistent across several districts. I will release a summary of their official responses once the session concludes.

Being away from the surgery and on call for emergencies is very difficult for a GP when mobile coverage is poor or completely absent in areas of Mid Devon. Internet connection is very poor in some villages which also makes life difficult for those working from home. In the modern age this is unacceptable.
We are increasingly encouraged to make payments and purchases online also our tax forms need to be filled in online. it is really difficult and frustrating trying to do this with the sluggish service we now get.
I run a business leadership& coaching business from home and work with global organisations based in the US, Australia, Indonesia and Thailand. Fast broadband is critical to allow Devon businesses like mine to compete globally.
Us ' Country Bumpkins' pay the same rate of tax as city dwellers, but the popular myth of our 'slower' way of life doesn't mean that we should be fobbed off with snail-like broadband!
We have resorted to satellite broadband as the telephone broadband is of an unacceptable speed. This is hugely costly, and not always reliable, so a faster broadband via conventional methods would be far better and more cost-effective.

As the owner of a local Building company the importance of both is high on my agenda. The majority of our work is in rural villages and mobile signal is poor in the majority of cases. This makes day to day operations extremely difficult at times.
