The issue of the election of the State Executive Committeeman for Charleston County is a matter of continuing controversy in the Charleston County Republican Party (CCRP) Executive Committee and many believe this matter has not been handled correctly. Cryste Carroll was duly elected April 22 at Wando High School with a 55% majority or 227 votes. A letter was sent to the CCRP chairman by the SCGOP chairman stating Mrs. Carroll did not qualify based of SCGOP Rule 2-F. Mrs. Carroll will send a formal appeal to the state including evidence of multiple delegates and officers being seated across our state without qualifying under the same SCGOP Rule 2-F.

As delegates to the Charleston County Convention on April 22, 2023 at Wando High School, if you voted to elect Cryste Carroll as the State Executive committeewoman of Charleston County, would you kindly sign the petition requesting Mrs Carroll’s appeal be reviewed justly and fairly.

The appeal process is underway. We are gathering documentation to show that these rules have been applied inconsistently across the state.

I support Cryste Carroll and free and fair elections, especially when it comes to light that other State ECs did not qualify, yet remain.

The rule itself, as I understand it, is ex post facto. Since it was created in August 2022, it was impossible to have more than one primary election before the convention. Someone newly interested could not meet the 2 of 3 requirement. While this is not the case for Cryste, it shows the rule itself to be not well thought out and invalid.

County: assigned a committee to vet over 100 people as delegates for the state convention...BUT, this same committee can't vet a small handful of candidates for state EC? State: Accepts 7 State ECs with no better voting record than aledged Cryste Carroll had? What explains this duplicitous behavior?

I was present and I voted for Cryste. I later witnessed her removal without adjudication at the CCGOP meeting .

I was out of town and unable to vote on April 22nd, but I support Cryste Carroll's formal appeal regarding her being stripped of her office without proper notification. The Charleston County GOP must have fair elections and transparent procedures.

Cryste Carroll was elected to be our Charleston Co. Executive Committeeman by a huge majority at the Charleston Co. GOP Convention. If she was not qualified to run, the state or county GOP should have notified the voters before the vote. VERY poor leadership in the state and county GOP.

This new SCGOP rule clearly is unconstitutional and discriminatory. Ms. Carroll should be seated immediately!
