Storage facilities are an industrial use that should not be included in commercial zoning. The projected site for these new storage facility is the north west corner of Minton Rd and Norfolk Parkway, right outside the new community Sawgrass Lakes. These facilities would hurt property values in all of West Melbourne.
So please sign this petition to help keep this storage facility out of West Melbourne.
We, the residents of West Melbourne, oppose the construction of any style of storage facilities on the northwest corner of Minton and Norfolk. We oppose the changing of C-2 zoning to include storage facilities and oppose the changing of the zoning of the above referenced parcel from the current C-1 to C-2 zoning.
The current C-1 commercial zoning makes the most sense to ensure the integrity of the area. These are our homes and investments that we have worked our whole lives for and entrusted this government to protect.

This is the worst use of our land on the main drag of our beautiful city. It is zoned the way it is for a reason. Why change it? Storage units in front of quarter million dollar homes and up? Seriously? You have to be kidding me
I vote 'No' to changing C-2 zoning to include storage facilities, and 'No' to changing the parcel on the corner of Minton and Norfolk from C-1 to C-2.
Please do not build storage on Minton in front of my neighborhood. We live in a growing community that is really starting to take off. The last thing we need are industrial business to squeeze the residential look and feel out of the area.
Don’t do it... unless the goal is to lower property values and attempt to make W Melbourne more like Palm Bay. We should compete with Vieira.
This is not the kind of business West Melbourne should want propped up just down the street from their envisioned Town Center. Please do not allow this.

They are building brand new homes in this area and they want to put the storage units right on the main road. It's going to start looking like another Orange Blossom Trail here in West Melbourne soon if this is allowed.
