As a runner, I think Manchester Essex School should have an outdoor track. It wouldn't just benefit people who run for the school, it would benefit all sports and all people in the community. If we get an outdoor track, it will give people a place to get exercise. There are a lot of benefits when exercising, but to just name a few, it improves motivation, creates healthy habits for later in life, increases self-confidence, and a lot more. The biggest one is that it helps people mentally, physically, and emotionally.
This is a fantastic and needed effort to make up for a missed opportunity when the Donovan Park Project was not approved in 2014. Given the need for facilities for the entire community, including the senior community, and the benefits a track can provide, it is a resource the town should pursue. Connected to this, the town should explore the possibility of Cell Signaling donations to this town resource.
