they folded and the parking charges are officially off the table for good. im honestly shocked we pulled this off but so glad we kept the pressure on. stick around because we should probably keep an eye on things just in case they try this again later.
This will have an impact on families struggling who want to use the park with their children. So many things are been taken away where children can play and meet others. Another unfair tax on the struggling familes. Find another way to raise funds such as charging more when events take place .

You’ll force parking onto local streets which defeats the point of a car park. It’ll also have a negative impact on Parkrun- surely you should be looking to improve the health of the local population?

Even if it just remains free/subsidised for Saturday/Sunday mornings?! It will impact hundreds of people ranging from children to pensioners trying to exercise and be healthy. Also be prepared for lots of parking on grass verges causing more maintainance work for the council.

An absolutely disgusting idea. What are the council thinking of. We have an obesity epidemic in this country and the War Memorial Park is one of the main places where the citizens of Coventry can exercise safely away from traffic.

I park there for an hour a day like a lot of dog walkers. Charging £1 will mean I will park on the nearest road outside someone’s home at 5.45am. Not fair.

If they charge after the first hour the cafe takings will be hit hard…

No one who lives in Coventry should be charged for parking here.
