We, the undersigned oppose the construction of a multi-storey car park (mentioned under point C9 in the recent corporate plan). It will increase our contribution to climate change, encourage car travel to campus and contradicts our aims to become a \"lower carbon campus\". The vast sums of money that would be used could be far better spent in investigating other, sustainable transport options which would have a wider and more positive impact, and ensure that the UEA lives up to its reputation as a leader in environmental sustainability.
(NB: email addresses/student numbers will NOT be displayed in the publicly accessible petition)
The level of engagement regarding this proposal confirms that the community remains deeply invested in our environmental commitments. This momentum demonstrates a clear consensus that campus infrastructure must align with our sustainability goals.

Keep the campus green. Big concrete blocks are the last thing we need.

Car parks take up too much space and just bring more congestion to the area. Please rethink this project, it makes no sense at all.

Total waste of money. Spend it on new bike lanes or subsidizing the bus passes for everyone. This plan is backwards.

Ridiculous idea. We should be encouraging students to bike or bus, not making it easier to drive. Fix the bus routes instead!!

Just another way to ruin the scenery. Uea needs to stick to their goals and stop building ugly carparks.
