I DID THE MATH - IT WILL COST US $1000+ PER YEAR IN PARKING FEES.
WITH THESE NEW CHARGES, WESTFIELD CLAIMS TO 'WANT TO CONTINUE TO PROVIDE OUR STAFF WITH WELL-MAINTAINED & SECURE PARKING...'
IF ANYONE IS FAMILIAR WITH THE CARPARK ON THE ROOF OF DAVID JONES @ GARDEN CITY - IT HAS NO COVER; SO RAIN, HAIL OR SHINE, BOTH EMPLOYEES AND OUR CARS ARE LEFT UNPROTECTED. AND ON A GOOD DAY, DAMAGED BY ANIMAL EXCRETION.
THE CARPARK IS LEFT DIRTY & FULL OF RUBBISH. THERE ARE TROLLEYS LEFT EVERYWHERE - BLOCKING FIRE EXITS, STAIRS, ELEVATORS AND AUTOMATIC DOOR ACCESS & CAUSING DAMAGE TO OUR CARS.
IF WE CANNOT FIND A PARK, WE ARE THEN FORCED TO PARK ELSEWHERE WITH A FULL-DAY CHARGE OF $20.
WE HAVE ALSO CONFIRMED WITH CENTRE MANAGEMENT THAT THE ROOF WILL STILL BE SHARED WITH CUSTOMERS. IN DOING SO, STAFF HAVE TO WAIT ANYWHERE BETWEEN HALF AN HOUR - 1 HOUR ON A THURSDAY NIGHT/WEEKENDS JUST TO EXIT THE CARPARK.
THERE IS ALSO MINIMAL/NO CAMERA COVERAGE ON THE ROOF & NO SECURITY GUARD PRESENCE - THAT IS A MASSIVE SECURITY RISK AS STAFF HAVE BEEN FOLLOWED TO THE STAFF CARPARK & ATTACKED!
NOT TO MENTION THE LIFTS CONSTANTLY BEING 'OUT OF ORDER' & THE STAIRWELLS USED FOR FIRES, DRUG USE & FULL OF TRASH (INCLUDING USED CONDOMS).
IT SEEMS THAT THEIR ASSURANCE OF A 'SECURE & WELL-MAINTAINED' STAFF CARPARK HAS NOT MET THE STANDARD WESTFIELD HAS PROMISED.
AS THE STAFF OF WESTFIELD, WE NEED TO BAND TOGETHER AND FIGHT TO HAVE THESE CHARGES DROPPED. WE ALREADY SPEND THE MAJORITY OF OUR WAGES ON GROCERIES, FOOD, DRINK ETC IN THE CENTRE, WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY TO PARK ON PREMISES!

Westfield management is ignoring our safety and stealing our paychecks while the filth on that roof continues to pile up. We are almost at 250 signatures so hit the share button and force them to look at what we are actually dealing with every single shift.

The staff carparking is not secured (people have had their cars broken into), not undercovered and is always taken up by customers so tell me why should we have to pay anything at all to park there. Without us in the first place you would have no business.
The reason you brought in paid parking was because you didn't want commuters taking up the parking spots for customers. Staff shouldn't have to pay for parking when they're there to do a job and make the centre money.
Living 40 minutes in another council gives me no real option other than driving. It would take me an 1 hour and 40 mins minimum to get to work using public transport, that is if all services are running on time and I only had a short shift during the middle of the day.
Life is already expensive with household bills mortgages ect We all have families and work hard and many hours away from them to give them security this is just another expense and not nessesary.
It's not a secure car park as customers and anyone can access the car park at any time. It's disgusting and disgusting we have to wait up to an HOUR to leave the car park on Thursday nights and weekends!!!

maybe more focus should be put into drawing customers into the centre and less focus on charging a trap audience for parking. In reality it is costing us over $2000 a year as we have already paid tax on this money.
