Final supporters
Vista View Park, located in Davie, Florida, is home to many different activities and events. One of these activities would be the preparing, and launching of rockets made by 3 high schools in the area: Piper, Plantation, and Western. These 3 high schools combined to send 7 teams to the Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC) national competition this year, where Plantation had 2 teams finish in the top 15. These rocketry teams are vital in the area because they help promote a fun and educational way to learn about STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). Vista View Park is the only place in South Florida that is accessible to these 3 high schools for launching rockets, and is vital to the process. The issue is that Vista View park is soon gaining new land, and implementing a zip line that will get in the way of rocket launches. This is where your support is vital. By signing this petition you are showing your support of advancement of education for the youth in South Florida. While this zip line may be profitable for the park, the money gained is negligible when compared to the education and experience gained by students who are launching at Vista View.

I guess that the city is probably trying to create revenue with a zip line. But think about the liability costs as opposed to encouraging STEM activities. If anything, put is come concreet launch pads for the kids. By the way model rockets are a lot safer than a zip line.
My son and I have used this park for recreational launches. My son has gone on the use the same park for testing rockets to compete in national NASA rocketry events. He is graduating this fall as an engineer. This site was part of his development into his future. I know a zip line would not have had the same effect.
By implementing times when the zip line and rocket launching do not overlap, Vista View can ensure safety of their visitors and allow students to continue their education in a fun and interesting way. Opening a student's eye to ways in which science can be compelling and exciting should be the priority.
My first year of rocket club was incredibly and gave me the opportunity to explore Washington DC for the TARC competition trip. Without Vista View park, I will never be able to continue to take part in such an amazing club again. Please continue to allow launches!
This park essential in the advancement of the aerospace programs of local high schools. Three nationally qualifying TARC schools (Piper, Plantation, and Western) all use this park to practice their rocketry and further their STEM programs. Keep Vista View open for us!
Very important activity for youth!
Ziplines are cool but rocketry in Vista View is ESSENTIAL!!! Western High School rocketry comes here all the time and there’s nowhere else nearby to go for rocketry.

The STEM/TARC rocketry program is the convergence of academics and a thrilling hobby. This is a program that truly inspires participants to exceed in the STEM disciplines. I can not fathom how a zip line could add as much value to someone's future as anything related to either rocketry or STEM.
