I have been spending my afternoons at Quincy Park watching owners struggle to find safe space for their dogs to run. The park board continues to ignore our emails but I am currently drafting a formal proposal to present at the next public hearing.

Seeing this kind of momentum for the park makes me think my own dog might actually get that space to run free soon. I am truly humbled by the number of you who want to see this change at Quincy Park.

There is not a single park in the neighborhood where dogs can run free and just be dogs. There is plenty of acreage at Quincy park for dogs to have a place to play.
I am not a dog owner, but I think this is a great community amenity. Something that both dogs and dog owners deserve.
This would be a great use of what is now largely unused space. It's a terrific idea. And it can and should be kept simple - no need for gravel or sand or expensive concrete walls. Just a fence and a trash can for pet waste would do.
This is so desperately needed. I do not want to have to drive to take my dog to an off leash park. I chose to live in Ballston for the ability to walk places. I can walk to 5 play grounds easily, but have to go all the way to Clarendon for an over designed dog park!
The clarendon dog park is absolute garbage and an alternative is desperately needed. Filthy sand and dangerous for the dogs. If it rains at all, massive puddles form.
With so many dogs in Ballston, it would be great to have a dog park or a designated area for dogs!
My dog loves to play with friends and there is nowhere nearby for him to do so!

Clarendon is too far a walk from Ballston, especially in warm weather. The many dogs living in apartments and condos in Ballston/VA Square need an enclosed area for exercise and socialization. An ideal dog park would have a separate section for small and special needs dogs.
