High school seniors are finally getting ready to start their own lives and experience the real world. We are about to start the path to our dreams and future careers. We are heading towards the path to making a consistent income and becoming financially independent adults. Some of us have even put tuition deposits down already on colleges. Additionally, if graduation goes on late into the summer it will affect our summer jobs that we rely on to pay for our tuition. Why should our futures be put on hold for a year due to a pandemic we cannot control. We want a written guarantee that high school seniors will graduate on time in June 2020 from the state of Virginia . We will NOT take no for an answer!

It’s not right that I have worked the past 12 years to graduate and now that it is time for me to walk across the stage I’m being told I’m not allowed. And that I have to wait and go to school for another year. My grades are good, I do my work, I’m passing my classes. Why am I being forced to not get what I’ve been working my whole life for?

my college deposit is already paid and i have a job lined up for the summer. they cant just keep us here when we finished all our credits during the semester. just let us move on with our lives.
