To the Oklahoma Board of Education, the senior class of 2020 will under no circumstance practice distance learning. We will have the opportunity to finish our senior year, just as every other student has in the past. We as a student body did not endure thirteen years of public school only to have it cut short. Basketball players and teams will have the opportunity to play for the title. Spring sports will have the opportunity to play their season. We will not accept anything but what a normal high school student senior year is like. I’m sure many of you remember your senior year vividly, all the memories made with classmates and through activities, and we would like to do the same. No matter what measures must be taken in order for this goal to be achieved, we will cooperate. If we have to continue to decide whether or not it is safe to go back on a week to week basis, we will cooperate. If we have to extend our school year, we will cooperate. Even if we have to come back next fall, we will cooperate. We, the class of 2020, will have our voices heard, and all we ask if that you think about all of the seniors who are being effected by this decision. We ask, that you consider us when making your decision this Wednesday.

I am truly overwhelmed by the messages so many of you have shared about your own senior year experiences. It is clear that this milestone belongs to all of us and I am just humbled to be a part of this collective effort.

I am honestly overwhelmed by the response to this request. This momentum belongs entirely to the seniors who refused to give up on our final year, and I am just humbled to be a part of it.

Students in the liberal arts have also been working for many months on end of year concerts, musicals, and getting ready to attend competitions. Dont take that away from them as well

I graduated class of 2018 & those moments like Prom & GRADUATION is important. That’s why senior year is supposed to be THE year. I understand the circumstances but please put the young adults of class of 2020 into consideration. Yes health is wealth but a lot of these students may not go to school after school. A lot of these students are moving and this is all they have to look forward to. A lot of students find leave while at school instead of at home , give it a thought. They deserve it.

I feel like we should only close a few weeks at a time then re evaluate. Not the whole thime. Now seniors don't get to have the entire senior year experiences and parents have to worry also about the mental health of their children along with the physical health. Being held up indoors the entire time is an easier way to have children's mental state decrease.

I am a first generation high school graduate and I won’t even get to walk, not to mention every club or elective I am in that I have made state or regionals in is canceled.

I think they should come up with a plan so that all these young people can complete what they have gone to school to do and that is to walk across that stage

I am a senior and we deserve to have a chance to graduate, 12 years worth of work needs to pay off and not at home.
