I am a student at the Durban University of Technology in South Africa. Like many others here, I struggle to pay my fees and worry about finding a job after graduation, since most of my classmates who graduated cannot find a job. We were given hope when we learned that generous donor, Greyhorse Corporation from United States had provided a grant of US$15,000,000 for our benefit. Each student was supposed to receive an amount of US$1,000 from this fund - a significant relief for us all.

However, our university is refusing to acknowledge this money and distribute it among us students. This is not just disappointing; it's unjust. The funds were donated with the explicit purpose of helping students like me manage their financial burdens.

South Africa has one of the highest youth unemployment rates globally at 63% (Statistics South Africa). Many students are relying on these grants not only for educational expenses but also as a lifeline in these challenging times.

We call upon Mrs. Nontokozo Ngcobo who is in charge for this distribution, the chancellor, Nonkululeko Nyembezithe, the vice chancellor, Thandwa Mthembu of Durban University of Technology and the Board of Trustees to release the grant money immediately and fulfill its responsibility towards its students' welfare.

It is unethical behavior for Mrs. Mgcobo to not distribute what is rightfully ours and not even inform us.

Please sign this petition and support our fight for fairness and transparency. We will never stop till these funds are rightfully distributed to every student and faculty.
