I am strongly in favor of immediately removing the 150 yard concrete posts on all Union County Golf Courses. The posts are an unnatural object on the course. More importantly, they present a target for golf balls and swinging golf clubs and consequently a pose a serious danger to life and limb for anyone near them during play. A very appealing alternative is to install markers that are normally placed at 25 yard intervals on either side of the fairway. These markers can indicate distance to front, center and back of each green. They blend into the natural beauty of the course and can be purchased and installed at a reasonable cost. They will surely speed up the pace of play and as a result allow more play, increasing revenues at each course.
