The OC Board of Supervisors wants to take away MSP-Players GC and build a cultural/nature/picnic space. In addition to losing a fine golf course, this move will: (1) Reduce OC revenue: going from two to one golf course (2) Increase OC capital expenditures: $ millions to build out new space. (3) Increase OC operating expenditures: $ millions in perpetuity to run the park. (4) Increase your taxes to pay for (1), (2), and (3).

The Board of Supervisors thinks they can just bulldoze our course and charge us for their vanity project without a fight. We are creeping toward 250 signatures but we need to hit that milestone immediately to show them we refuse to let them burn our tax dollars.

Please don’t close the course. They’re aren’t enough affordable golf courses in Orange County to play. They closed Empire Lakes and they’re trying to close another one in Irvine. Soon we won’t be able to play anywhere unless you are a member of a country club. I don’t see how closing public courses is helping “grow the game.”
I have played the players corse since it was built. It is a money maker for the county. Changing it will begin another cost, to county tax payers, for now on. I just think the golf courses in mile square park are a big asset for young and old. It is hard to get tee times at all three golf courses ..
Born and raised in fountain Valley. This makes no sense as Mile Square Park as a whole is huge. There is another spot of dead space to build on? And taking away a tax revenue makes zero cents (sense)!
This proposal makes no sense! The golfers lose, the County loses and the taxpayers lose. We use the golf courses at Mile Square on a weekly basis. Please do not remove another active senior recreational facility!
Save the golf for many to enjoy. The parking is already inadequate for expanding the park use. Ask the surrounding neighborhoods that block their streets when holidays occur
I say keep the golf course!!!

This golf course is busier than most in the area, so there must be a need. You cannot collect very much revenue from another park, though the maintenance costs will be very similar. Keep the course for fiscal responsibility.
