Benders Landing Estates Community

Dear BLE Community,
LGI Land is attempting to obtain community support for their proposed re-plat of a part of Benders Landing Estates Section 6 that lies north of and at the easternmost end of Rayford Road. LGI has circulated an on-line petition to request our support. The Board of Directors of Benders Landing Estates POA stand by our community members living on E. Balsam Fir Circle and N. Ossineke Drive that will be directly impacted by this re-plat and DOES NOT support the re-plat or this cynical petition. Further, we ask that all BLE members NOT support this petition.
When the BLE community was originally developed by LGI, our homeowners along the detention lake north of Rayford Road at its easternmost end were advised by LGI that this then wooded reserve would never be developed. Further, LGI entered into an agreement with the South Montgomery County Fire district (Montgomery County ESD No. 8) to deed land at this end of Rayford Road for the construction of a much needed South Montgomery County Fire Station No. 5. LGI reneged on both of these promises, clear-cut the formerly wooded reserve and have refused to deed the land for the fire station. MC ESD No. 8 is currently in litigation with LGI to force them to deed the land for the fire station that they still want to construct and know is much needed to significantly reduce the emergency response time to BLE.
Now LGI proposes to “beautify” the land that they clear-cut and deed land for the fire station that they already promised to provide. This, in exchange for the development of 18 new lots on this reserve and with that breaking another promise to our homeowners that this reserve would never be developed.
LGI would like our community members to believe that this development is necessary in order to provide for the fire station. This is not true! LGI just needs to do what they promised and deed the plot for the fire station to MC ESD No. 8 and leave the remainder of the land as a reserve. The Benders Landing Estates community should insist that these actions take place and stop LGI’s threats to the safety of our community by continuing to block the construction of South Montgomery Fire Station No. 5.

I have been spending my nights reviewing the legal filings regarding the broken promises made to our neighborhood. It is clear that LGI thinks we will just go away if they stay quiet, but they are wrong. We are documenting every instance where they failed our community and will present it all when the time is right.

Seeing this kind of movement confirms that our neighbors refuse to accept empty promises regarding our community land. This wave of support shows LGI that we are paying close attention to their broken word on the fire station site.

Against this re-plat request. The sole reason why we purchased on E Balsam Fir Cir was LGI's promise the reserve would never be developed. This is outrageous!!
I do NOT support. This is exactly against what Chris Wren said when he lost at the Planning Commission meeting trying to this the last time. He said that he would not replat again because of the expense and legal fees. We should see this as what it is, an out and out grab for money.
I do not support the re-plat and think LGI should give the fire station the land as promised. Karen Brooks told me the land was for them when I bought a couple of years ago. LGI should not go back on their word and put it's land owners in harms way if a fire could have been stopped with a near by fire station.
I find the attempt to use public safety as a bargaining chip to be very troubling. I hope that LGI will promptly deed the land so the station can be built.
As an owner of 3 properties in BLE, we were assured and sold on the fact that we would have a fire station built as well as commercial property in the Four Corner's and a reserve section which would remain wooded. LGI has not delivered on any of these items.
I do not support the re-plat in BLE section 6.
I do not support the re-plat of Benders Landing Estates Section 6. Residents have made investment decisions to reside here based on this area being a reserve. Don't try to change the rules on us once you've got our money!
