Montreal-Ouest residents want to be kept informed of Town council activities and decisions. Since many residents are not able to attend council meetings for a variety of valid reasons, we feel that their council should go to them, via electronic media. Hence we respectfully request that all Town council meetings be recorded and broadcast for all residents to be kept informed
(We intend to present this petition Dec 18, 2017 at the budget meeting)

I am honestly a bit overwhelmed by the momentum behind this request. It is plain to see that local transparency is a priority for so many of you and I am just happy to help facilitate this conversation.

For more than 2 years I have been urging council to begin live webcasting its monthly meetings - all to no avail. It's about time we take action.
thank you for suggesting this Norbert. Residents certainly want to be part of the conversation and with busy careers,families and for some the inability to get to meetings, electronic media is the way for residents to be informed about activities and decisions of the town council. Congrats to team. All your hard work is appreciated.
This transparency and accessibility will have many positive effects for the Town, and will serve to help maintain a vibrant and engaged community. This can be achieved easily and cheaply.
Mowest administration must be more transparent and communicative and less bureaucratic.

In the age of the internet and eGovernment, it doesn't make sense to have to go in person to the council meetings to stay informed. For the sake of transparency, MOwesteners should be kept informed through electronic media.

The Town indicated at the November Council meeting that it would release the budget 2 days before the budget meeting. It has now reneged on that. It would have been good to have their promise recorded. Not a great moment for transparency.
