This petition will be presented to Broadwas and Cotheridge Parish Council and is to request that a form of permanent traffic calming be installed near Broadwas Primary School.
The A44 is a main road that is utilised by all types of vehicles and is a busy route.
It is clear that many vehicles, including articulated lorries, speed through the village making this a dangerous road.
The are a number of children attending Broadwas Primary that need to cross the road as well as all the children who attend The Chantry and catch the bus.
Parents and carers who are dropping children off are also at risk of being involved in an accident here.
We live behind the Royal Oak put and I regularly walk alongside and cross the road with my two 7-year old children. This is extremely dangerous at the speeds the vehicles currently drive at.

I witness daily just how fast the traffic goes past the school buildings, I have even witnessed overtaking past the school, not only dangerous but miraculous that no serious or fatal accident has taken place with the stupidity of driving such a way through a village. HGV's are a big issue, very rarely do I see them driving past school keeping to the speed limit, even at the end of the school day.
Traffic calming needs to be put into place, the sooner the better.

I walk my son to school crossing the A44 main road is very dangerous. A zebra crossing would make the village so much safer.

4 times in the last month I’ve nearly been hit pulling onto the main road by vehicles speeding round the blind bend . It’s only a matter of time until there is another serious accident if nothing physical is done to make sure people obey the speed limit and I’m sure no one would want that on there conscience

Such a dangerous road with traffic going way over the speed limit.
As the manager of the pre school in the village we are concerned about the safety of our families to and from the school.

My son is autistic and the speed of the traffic in the village frightens him and he can go into flight mode. It is very dangerous as the pathways are so very narrow.

It will also help people trying to enter the A44 from the road by the village hall.
