Road users ignore speed limit signs, lorries thunder through the village. The school is on the main road my heart is in my mouth when picking up my grandson

We live behind the Royal Oak put and I regularly walk alongside and cross the road with my two 7-year old children. This is extremely dangerous at the speeds the vehicles currently drive at.

I witness daily just how fast the traffic goes past the school buildings, I have even witnessed overtaking past the school, not only dangerous but miraculous that no serious or fatal accident has taken place with the stupidity of driving such a way through a village. HGV's are a big issue, very rarely do I see them driving past school keeping to the speed limit, even at the end of the school day.
Traffic calming needs to be put into place, the sooner the better.

As a parent and villager of 20+ years this is something I wholeheartedly support. The traffic only ever slows down when there is a mobile speeding van. Lorries thunder along the straight between the Royal Oak and the brook always going way over the 30mph limit.
The school is vital to the village and we must keep everyone safe, but especially our children.

The speed that people drive at in this stretch of road is really dangerous. Especially Lorrie’s and often they are not focused on the road - they are on their phones. Please don’t let an accident happen.

I walk my son to school crossing the A44 main road is very dangerous. A zebra crossing would make the village so much safer.

That’s stretch of road definitely needs something to stop speeding, it’s a busy road used by artic lorry’s who don’t slow down , infact very few slow down even when children are close as there a no pavements in some areas ,it is dangerous for children crossing from school and drivers who are keeping to the speed limit . Despite signs it doesn’t deterrent anyone there is a blind bend and they speed through. Please but some sort of bumps or something to make them slow down .

Numerous vehicles traveling along this busy road are traveling at well over the legal limit. Occasionally there is a speed camera on the road but this unfortunately is not enough to protect locals and the children at the local school.

The a44 is a very busy and dangerous road my boy has to cross it to catch school bus but very dangerous with Lorrie’s and speeding cars
