The Purple House
Prefect Team at Brookfield Community School and I would like to start a
campaign to get some sort of Traffic Calming Measure and/or a Crossing Point
for pedestrians on Brook Lane, Sarisbury Green. For me, this is something that
is quite close to heart due to an accident I had 3 years ago where I was hit by
a car crossing Brook Lane walking home from school. We know that this road is
one used by many people in the community- the 1800 pupils at Brookfield, people
who live on Brook Lane and the children from the Feeder schools in the area. To
get something put in place we need as much support as we can get and this is
something that will benefit many people in future years. Any support would be
highly appreciated!
Thank you,

I cross this road twice daily with a 7 year old and 5 year old. The corner from the a27 restricts the view and the because most cars are travelling much faster than 30 it is.really hard to cross safely. You either need to add speed reduction here to allow people enough time to check both ways or sort a safer crossing e.g. pedestrian crossing. That said the crossing by woodlands we were nearly hit when a car failed to stop at the red light. Speed is an issue.
