Hi, I am Trudy Bibby and I am seeking support to have a Pelican Crossing on Wisbech Road, near the Co-Op and Friars Way.
I was unfortunate to recently see my 12 year old autistic daughter nearly get hit by a car, when she tried to cross the road, after getting off the school bus.
Wisbech Road is already extremely busy and with the new schools and houses coming up in Littleport, the volume of traffic is going to increase even more.
Something needs to be done before someone gets hurt - seriously hurt.

I have been busy meeting with local council members to discuss the traffic dangers on Wisbech Road. The safety of our children remains the priority.

I live on Wisbech road and it's a race track aswell as a crossing it needs traffic calming measures put in
My Grandchildren live in friars way and are now of an age were they want to go to the leisure centre on their own. This would be such a benefit to have a crossing to keep everyone safe.
Does there have to be an accident before anything is done. My brother-in-law lives opposite the Co-op and sees a lot. People should stop using their mobiles when crossing the road especially with small children. He has written to the Parish Council about this but still nothing has been done, he is just waiting for something to happen.
I did the same thing when I got off the school bus here several years ago, it's about time something was done to keep our children safe
Littleport is the largest village in England and deserves an extra crossing sited where Trudy requests its placement.
Such a dangerous road... It needs a crossing!!!
This road is a nightmare - especially with all the traffic and no safety protection at all. I imagine a lot of pets get run over there as well.

The cost of a crossing is nothing compared to the money wasted by councils, what's the cost of a child's life
