To all Town of Campbell residents:
Would you like to have a local dog park on French Island? If you would, please sign this petition to ask the Town of Campbell to approve a dog park at the old baseball field at Central Place and 2nd Ave W.
Dominic Kreiling, a 17 year old senior at Logan High School, has raised over $8,000 in private donations for the dog park as his Eagle Scout project to improve our community. Over the past 22 months he has worked with the Town of Campbell on this project and has personally put in hundreds of hours into this endeavor.
The Town of Campbell had approved the dog park at a different location in December of 2022 only to find out in April that it was not zoned for public use. This location at the old baseball field at Central Place and 2nd Ave W is now the best location for the dog park.
This park used to be an old baseball field and is currently unused by the community. It already has established parking and Dominic has personally talked with the neighbors to take their concerns into account as he plans the dog park. By approving the dog park the park would be used as intended by the local residents again rather than being an empty and unused space.

Please have rules, especially picking up your dogs waste, and providing garbage cans for disposal.
We have the space, the park currently goes unused. This seems like an excellent solution by one of our young residents
I’ve been in scouts with Dominic since we were in early elementary school. It would be a shame if he wasn’t allowed to move forward and finish his Eagle something that he’s been working towards most of his life.
A dog park is almost a necessity at this point on French Island. Almost any park you go to, you will see a dog running leash free. A dedicated, fenced in, dog park to have a dog run leash free is by far the safest for the dog and the public.
I live right next to the park and although I appreciate the thought, this dog park, along with traffic and the fact that we have dogs ourselves will no longer allow us to enjoy our backyard. All of the folks who own property next to the park are not in favor. I would love to help and support another idea for use of the empty park but this is not a fair idea to those of us who own properties here. Please think of how you would feel if you had property here with your own pets who could be in potential danger when people don’t leash their dog.
This would be a wonderful addition to our community!

Excited to have our own *official* dog park. I live right across Fanta Reed from here and can't wait to visit with my pup! My only hope is that it remains safe and in good condition unlike the fate of some of the others in our area. I have high hope though since it is approved by fellow neighbors and right in the neighborhood itself. I pledge to uphold my part in keeping it appropriately maintained so we can have it for our furbabies for years to come!
