Bar Toro Restaurant NY, LLC is appearing before Community Board 4 on Tuesday, July 10 to present a new restaurant and lounge called Bar Toro. ‘Toro’ is a Spanish tapas restaurant concept that currently exists in Boston, MA and boasts James Beard Award winning chef Ken Oringer and James Beard Award nominee Jamie Bissonnette. Bar Toro is a 180-seat restaurant and will be open daily from 11am-4am.
By signing this petition, you, as an area resident, are showing your support for the issuance of an on-premises liquor license for Bar Toro to open and operate at 85 10th Avenue (on the Westside Highway between 15th and 16th Streets).
Please feel free to address any questions or concerns to Will Malnati, at [email protected].
In addition, we strongly encourage you to send a letter of support to the Community Board 4’s District Manager, Bob Benfatto at [email protected] and Cc [email protected] letting the him know your address and that you are in favor of Bar Toro’s application.

180 seats is huge. Just hope they keep the noise down for us living on the block.
Been waiting for a spot like this to open near the high line. Would be a great addition to the area.
I LOVE their place in Boston! Please bring this to NYC asap we need better tapas around here.
Finally something good coming to the neighborhood. The food scene here has been pretty dead lately.
Yessss please open already tired of the same old boring bars in this neighborhood.
