Green Energy is good but Environmental Justice and Social Justice must be an integral part of the decision-making and process. Bruce, please seriously look into the health issues that have been brought up by Kahuku residents. There are 12 existing turbines. Now, they're bombarded with 8 more.

As a former citizen of Kahuku, my concern is, too big, too close, least efficient method of alternative energy, many better/less populous areas to establish this for greater safety.

Wrong in more ways than one. As you can see from this picture this is just one of the many reasons why, it is too close to my children’s school. This is not safe for any of them. No one was thinking of our children when they brought these monster turbines so close to our school and community.

I’d also like to know how the DOE and school administrators are going to address the impact of the wind turbine noise on the learning environment of our children. Noise pollution is known to be a significant cause of stress and I am concerned how the persistent sound of wind turbine noise will impact my child’s health and learning environment.

”Ua mau ke ea o ka Aina i ka pono: the life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness”. State motto, not being adhered to. We are the Aina in this sense, as keiki o ka aina, children of the land, and we are not being treated with righteousness. These turbines were built under one guise, greed. Not green, or sustainability. Just pure greed!

These industrial wind turbines are a health and safety hazard to our schools and community. They are obviously way too big and too close. There is no safety plan should they have a fire. Property values in Kahuku are dropping because of them. This is environmental injustice:

The DOH voice has been noticeably absent from the County push for 5-mile wind turbine setback and the State setback. We've submitted our health effects to DOH in hopes they would compile wind turbine effects information and provide it in their testimony for wind turbine setback legislation. I've also let my HMSA health insurance company know the cause of my costly wind turbine health effects (in an otherwise completely healthy person) so they can recoup their costs from the wind farm and submit their own testimony to support the 5-mile setback County legislation - not sure what % of the community has health insurance versus State supported health care - memory/ dementia/ headaches/ neck stiffness (physical therapy) are among the costly things health insurers and State health departments seem particularly interested in following up on because they cost so much to treat.
